According to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) art.13 and 14 Port of Skagen is obliged to provide information about our processing of your personal data to you as registered.

The purposes of processing your personal data
We process your personal information in order to ensure fulfillment of a contract with you or alternatively with your employer.

For this purpose, we process personal data such as your name, phone number, mail and information on payment information, invoice and similar financial information.

The legal basis for the processing
The processing of your personal data is based on the fulfillment of a contract - point (b) of article 6(1)

Furthermore, your information is processed in order for Port of Skagen to provide public port operations - point (e) of article 6(1)                                                              

Recipients of your personal data
Your personal information is treated with respect and we endeavor not to disclose it unless we are legally required or if it is necessary to pursue the purposes described above.

Your information may be communicated to business partners and suppliers of Port of Skagen in order to secure fulfillment of the specific contract or in order to fulfill Port of Skagen’s activities and obligations in the form of public port operations.

Data processors
In the following we disclose data processors relevant for the processing of your data in order to provide transparency of the processing. The data processors handle your personal data on behalf of Port of Skagen and only according to instructions given of Port of Skagen.

Storage of your personal data
Your personal information is mainly stored on our server. Storage of personal data on physical documents is limited and only if needed.

Deletion
Due to individual and multifaceted operations and processing it is not possible to state clear deadlines for deletion of your information.

Thus your personal information is deleted when it is no longer relevant and necessary in order to ensure the maintenance of the current contract or contractual relationship.

However information on finances is deleted no earlier than 5 years after termination of the contract, as a result of Danish accounting law.

Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights in relation to our processing of information about you. 

  • You have a right to gain access to the information that we process about you and some further information.
  • You have a right to have rectified incorrect information about you.
  • In very special cases, you have the right to have erased information about you before the time of our ordinary general erasure.
  • In certain cases, you have a right to have restricted the processing of your personal data. If you have a right to have the processing restricted, we may only process the information - except for storage - with your consent or for the purpose of determining, relying on or defending a legal claim or to protect a person or vital public interests.
  • In certain cases, you have a right to object to our otherwise lawful processing of your personal data.
  • If you would like to exercise your rights, please contact us or our DPO.

The right to complain
You can lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency about Port of Skagen’s processing of your personal data. You can also request the Data Protection Agency to determine whether your personal data are being processed legally.

Personal information

General
Personal information is the kind of information that to some extent may be referred to you. When you use our website, we gather and treat a number of such data. This may happen when you access content, if you sign up for our newsletter, participate in competitions or surveys, register as a user or subscriber or otherwise make use of our services.

We gather and treat the following types of information: a unique ID and technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile phone, your IP-number, geographical position as well as the pages you click on (interests). To the extent that you explicitly consent and enter the information, we also treat: name, telephone number, email and address.

Security
We have taken technical and organisational steps to prevent that your information is accidentally or illegally deleted, published, lost, deteriorated or made available to third parties, misused or otherwise treated contrary to legislation.

Purpose
The information is used to identify you as a user and to be able to deliver the services you have requested, such as allowing us to send a newsletter. We also use the information to optimise our services and content.

Storage period
The information is stored during the period of time permitted in accordance with legislation, and we delete it when it is no longer necessary. The period depends on the character of the information and the reason for storage. It is therefore not possible to state a general timeframe for deletion of the information.

Communication of information
Data concerning your use of the website, which advertisements you receive and possibly click on, geographical position, gender and age group et cetera are passed on to third parties to the extent that this information is known. You can see which third parties are concerned in the paragraph on Cookies above. The information is used to target advertisements.

We also use a number of third parties to store and treat the data. They only treat information on our behalf and must not use them for their own purposes.

Passing on of personal information such as name and email will only take place with your acceptance. We only use data controllers within the EU or in countries that offer sufficient protection for your data.

Access and complaints
You are entitled to be informed of the personal information we process about you. You can also object to the use of such information at any time. You may also withdraw your consent to the treatment of personal information. If the information processed about you is incorrect, you are entitled to have it corrected or deleted.
