The Port of Skagen
The fishery around Skagen has for a long time been the city's livelihood and since 1907 the fishermen have been able to land their catches at the port.
The fishery is the core area at the port of Skagen and it has been like that for generations - the fishery is part of Skagens' and the port's DNA. Therefor the port of Skagen is today considered the port of Scandinavia.
Through generations Skagen has been a the attraction for fishery, culture and maritime industry. The past years the port has experienced an increasing cruise traffic and an increasing need for maritime service, freight and bunkering.
Today fishery, maritime service, freight, cruise and bunkering are the foundations of the business at the port of Skagen. The expansion of the port is a natural investment in the capacity which corresponds to the future needs and challenges.
Based on the vision ’One Stop Shop’ the port offers all services within fishery, bunkering, freight and maritime service.
The major sea traffic which annually goes by Grenen (the tip of Denmark) is offered the best possible service with focus on quick and professional performance of all maritime tasks. The establishing of 600 m new pier means that large merchant ships and cruise ships op to 330 m can enter the port.
Vessels op to 330 m can enter the port and forthermore bunkering can be offered from the end of 2015. The expansion of the port of Skagen and business areas are a long-term strategy which positions the port as a crucial link betwenn Baltics, Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.
