Edible Fish and Shellfish

Large amounts of edible fish and shellfish are landed at the port from both Danish and foreign fishing vessels.

The landing of Norwegian lobsters at the port of Skagen is especially significant and during the past years it is the port in Denmark receiving the largest amount: a position which we focus on strenghtening.

Located on top of the European continent the port is optimally located in relation to the fishing sites in the North Sea, Skagerrak and Kattegat.

However, not only the location makes Skagen attractive as landing port. Apart from being the largest fishing port, the port of Skagen is also a modern, service minded and flexible port.

At and around the port there is a cluster of maritime service businesses, who have specialized in anything from refrigeration technology, electrical installations, motor repair to repair of fishing gear. This means that the skipper can get repair and service at the same port where he lands his catch. This saves both time and money and this way he will soon be back at the sea again.
