Being solution-oriented, flexible and service-minded are key words for the port of Skagen and the way in which we want to act towards our customers. This combined with a large capacity, easy access to the port and a central location in Northern Europe, makes the port of Skagen an ideal partner when it comes to handling of freight.
Our business areas are wide-ranging, and the port of Skagen is always open concerning new business areas which may help create value for the port and the community. With the ongoing expansion of the port which will result in 600 m of new piers with a depth of up to 11 m we have the right framework to offer our facilities to a wide range of different companies which either wish to establish themselves at the port of Skagen or wish to unload or load their goods through the port.
Among the areas which we can handle are:
- Bulk as fish meal, stone and gravel.
- Project cargoes.
- Frozen goods which are unloaded/loaded directly from reefers to freezer plants close to the pier.
- Floating bulk by means of fish oil and gas oil. Concerning both products it applies that the port of Skagen has tank facilities with directly connection from the pier.
- From the port area there are weekly departures with freight train.
Geographically, the port of Skagen has an utmost location with respect to the still increasing sea traffic between the Atlantic and the Baltics with a strong focus on the international sea traffic through Kattegat. Therefore, there is a strategic focus on building new business areas within transit freight and maritime service.
